"In a chat at the AI Summit that was also attended by Trump, Jensen Huang (CEO of Nvidia) said that the President realised the importance of AI and energy as soon as he took over his role at the White House...

On the first day of his administration, he realised the importance of AI, and he realised the importance of energy. For the last I don't know how many years, energy production was vilified, if you guys remember,” he said....

Talking about Trump's initiatives, Jensen Huang said one needs energy to produce things like AI.

We can't create new industries without energy. You can't reshore manufacturing without energy. You can't sustain a brand new industry like artificial intelligence without energy. If we decide, as a country, the only thing we want is IP—to be an IP-only, a services-only country—then we don't need much energy. But if we want to produce things, something as vital as artificial intelligence, then we need energy.”

The acceleration in AI investment -- notably capex at the Compute level -- is another clear indication of the US bolstering its Technology Pillar.

Technology is Defense. And asymmetric Technology is deterrence.

Meta is a poster child for this. The sequence of events is quite clear:

- DeepSeek open-source model overtakes Meta's Llama

- Meta's CTO joins US Army Reserves (called Detachment 201, also known as the Army's Executive Innovation Corps. This corps aims to integrate the expertise of senior Silicon Valley executives with the military's modernization efforts)

- The One Big Beautiful Bill passes, enabling 100% depreciation of capex + full R&D expensing

- Meta immediately announces massive capex plans (links below) and goes on an AI hiring spree

Mark Zuckerberg has fully put the 'pedal to the metal' -- with massive announcements both on the capex side (multi-GW data centers) and hiring side for the Superintelligence team...

This is essentially another example of the private/public partnership that is in fact critical to the History of the US' success.
